Wish List Wednesday

My Current Wish List:

I am loving these Tory Burch sandals. Since my birthday falls right at the start of summer, these are  first on my list J They can be dressed up, with a dress, or down with shorts; they are the perfect summer sandal!

I absolutely have to have this top from Fedora and I already have these shorts from J Crew! It's such a fun, bright outfit that you could wear tons of different ways!
I live in my chinos during the summer.

These necklaces are so glamorous. I have a lot of solid colored dresses that I paired with a bright scarf during the winter. These necklaces would be a perfect replacement for summer! They are also from Fedora.

I've had my eye on this little number as an option for St. Patty's Day. I think it would be too cute with a pair of nude pumps and one of the necklaces above. E's Closet Boutique

What are some of the items that are on your wish list?

Weekend Recap

On Friday night, three of my friends and I traveled to Winston Salem, North Carolina for Zeta Day- a day where all of the Zeta Chapters across NC gather for a convention! It was an exhausting 3 hour drive where rain and wind almost blew us off of the road! Thank the Lord for watching out for us :)

The hotel we stayed at, bakes cookies for its' guests once a day. Sadly, we were too late and all of the cookies were gone. We called the front desk and pitifully asked if they would be making any more cookies, and they told us they weren't. About an hour later, our "girl cravings" got the best of us, and we went on an adventure around the hotel for any type of cookie we could find. The front desk has a type of pantry with snacks and necessities for the guests to buy. One of the guys saw us picking up the cookies, and asked if we were the girls who had  called earlier. This sweet boy gave us free cookies AND free milk, just because he liked us :) Needless to say, it was a great, relaxing night!

Here are a few pictures I snapped at Zeta Day-

This is Brandi, one of my best friends who goes to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She is one of the  sweetest girls I have ever met. She is originally from L, NC but two summers ago, she found her way to where I live, and began working at the same restaurant as me! Since then, we have had the most amazing friendship and I have no idea what I would do without her!

On Sunday night, Tim and I made homemade BBQ for the first time! It was amazing! My plate is a bit under the healthy classification, but it's acceptable to cheat, right? :)

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Friday Funnies!

Whew! Did this week fly by or what? It literally felt like yesterday was Monday! I hope all of you had a great week :)

As if Friday isn't exciting enough, I've found some of the cutest pictures on Pinterest this week that I wanted to share with yall! I think everyone can use a good laugh in the morning to start the day off right.

(This one really makes me giggle because I can totally see my grandma saying this!)

Do you have any big plans for the weekend?
Happy Friday!!!

I'm loving the number 5!

One big highlight of my week so far has been the five new followers and friends that I have gotten!

My newest friends:

I am sure all of you can remember how it felt when you first started your blogs, and I was beginning to feel a little bit like the kid who gets picked last in gym class!
I absolutely cannot wait to get to know you sweet girls better! In honor of the 5 new friends I have made, here are 5 fun facts about me to help you all to get to know me!

1. I am a Zeta Tau Alpha
& Amanda from A Sweet Simple Southern Life is my Grandbig!

She is one of the sweetest girls I know and I love her! Don't know what I'm going to do without her next year :(

2. I am an only child, and my Momma is my Best Friend!

3. I danced for 15 years, and I miss it so much! I really wish I would have kept dancing when I came to  ECU, but my schedule is too crazy!

4. I absolutely love to entertain and cook! This is a picture from last Christmas dinner that  I cooked and set up all by myself :)

5. Last but not least, my perfect (realistic) day would be waking up, going for a run on the beach, laying out all day with my family and friends, go on a boat ride, come home and take a relaxing shower followed by a nap, grilling out with my family and friends, and spend the rest of the night relaxing.

What are some fun facts about you?
Do you have any tips for me and my blogging adventure?

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday all! It seems that Sunday night I always dread going to bed because I have to start a whole new week full of responsibilities and learn how to handle all of the stress that comes with those responsibilities when I wake up. BUT, I want to face this Monday with a different attitude. Today, and the rest of this week, I want to put aside every crazy/stressful/wildcard/obstacle that comes my way and realize that I can get through it. Here are some words of inspiration that I am going to try to remember throughout my week, and I hope you do the same!!!

And….

Happy Monday! J

Of course, Valentines Day

Valentines Day is such a great day, not just because of the presents and candy, but because of the meaning. We should all spend every day reminding the ones that we care about how much we love them, but sometimes we all fall short! Valentines Day is that day to do so!

I had an exam bright and early Tuesday morning, so I spent most of my time preparing for that. On Thursday of last week, I made Valentines for my Mom, Granny, Daddy, Grandmother, and Papa and mailed it to them with a special treat-Chocolate covered pretzels with pink sprinkles! I totally forgot to take a picture, but maybe Momma can send me one of hers (she left on Monday for work and will be back late today). A couple of the Valentines said "You've got me all twisted up inside! Will you be my Valentine?"

I got an early Valentines Card from Momma on Monday! It made my day :) (of course, the money was a huge plus)!

Tim isn't a very mushy guy; he likes to do small things that mean more. (Flowers would have been a beautiful surprise, but lets not be picky!) He prepared a wonderful (and calorie-full) dinner for us!

We are big Yahtzee players, but neither one of us have the game up here. So he bought me one and had the game and note hiding in one of the kitchen drawers for me to find!

The quote says "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may mean the world."

My Kind of Crazy

This has been one crazy week for me! I literally felt like each day ran into the next. Don't you just hate weeks like that? Granted, they go by so quickly and it's the weekend before you know it, but I'd like to take some time to enjoy myself. We went to the Brantley Gilbert Concert last weekend, and here's a recap of the show!

Brantley Gilbert Concert!

We ate at the House of Blues before the concert and it was a major plus; I recommend every who goes to a concert to eat at their restaurant first! You get a special pass for a completely different line and you don't have to wait as long as everyone else does! It had to have been at least -20 degrees, we literally almost froze. The wind was horrible and I remember being so cold my eyes were watering (but it was worth it)!

Here is a picture of the whole group!

and here is one of us outside, you can tell how cold it is by the expressions on all of our faces. (Yes, I know I'm an idiot for not carrying a jacket. I didn't want to have to worry about it once we got inside).

His band is absolutely amazing! All my life, my Daddy has played the guitar, so I am very familiar with a lot of different bands, and let me tell you- this one sounds better live than they do recorded. They Rock!!

We had a blast!

The Vow, Brantley Gilbert, and Friends

OK, so after I left work yesterday morning (I work in the computer lab on campus), I could not stop thinking about my new blog; what I was going to write, how to design it, and how the heck to get people to read it! I am still learning, but this morning I tweeked a few things and I think I am actually going to like it.

Ok, so I am sure everyone has heard of this move. I looked at the reviews before we went, and they weren't as good as I expected them to be. But, Rachel McAdams is absolutely beautiful and Channing Tatum is smoking-how can you not want to go see it? I went last night with my little, Krista, and a few of our friends. I won't reveal all until after everyone has seen it, but lets just say, I balled the entire movie. I literally felt like I was Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum was trying to make me fall in love with him again (which wouldn't be a problem at all)!

We are leaving today at noon to go to the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach to see my future husband, Brantley Gilbert. I am BEYOND excited. In fact, I am so excited that when I woke up, I couldn't go back to sleep! I will post pictures from the concert when I get back :)

What do you think about The Vow?

My Very First Blog

Hi there!

This is my very first blog, and my very first post; basically these words are golden. I am very new to all of this, so this is the story of why and how I got started.

I've always thought blogging to be kind of tedious and a waste of time. But then-over the past few weeks (since I've become addicted to pinterest) I have found all kinds of blogs with recipes, workouts, and crafts and I have to admit that I have become totally addicted. Even now, when I sign on my computer to start doing homework I find myself three hours later on some blog from a girl who lives in California.

I have decided to give this a try (the guy in my life laughed when I told him I was going to start) and see how I like it. I am really into living a more healthy lifestyle so most of the posts on my blog will be about just that!

SO, whoever you are-if I have anyone begin to follow me, stay tuned for some yummy Weight Watchers recipes!!!

XO,
Jessica
